Basement Fire Quickly Doused In Ridgewood

Ridgewood firefighters made quick work of a Tuesday morning basement blaze.

The fire broke out in the utility room of the $3.6 million home at 224 Crest Road in Ridgewood shortly before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 25.

The fire broke out in the utility room of the $3.6 million Crest Road home shortly before 10:30 a.m. April 25.

Flooring and/or tile work apparently was being done on the house at the time, responders said.

Two adults and a child who were home got out OK, and damage apparently was minimal, they said.

Village police and EMS and Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters also responded.
